At present, ponkan oranges in Shuidatian Township of Fenghuang County usher in a bumper harvest. Farmers are busy picking, sorting, and basketing them.
Shuidatian Township has guided villagers to develop citrus production and provided technical assistance. At present, there are more than 1,000 mu (about 66.67 hectares) of citrus in Chiping Village, and it is expected to achieve a high-quality fruit yield of over 1 million kilograms this year. The improved citrus industry is becoming a new way for the farmers in Chiping Village to increase income.
“Next, we will explore various models such as online live streaming sales of agricultural products and diversified fruit processing methods to expand sales channels, improve the industrial chain, and develop characteristic agricultural products, in a bid to help villagers boost their income,” said Liu Yishun, Party secretary of Chiping Village.
